Literature Text
“Despair” is a thing with broken wings
That Perches on your back
And whispers fears and doubts
And only weighs you down.
I wrote this back when I was a freshman in high school. We were reading "Hope" by Emily Dickinson, so i wondered what the opposite of hope would be.
Heres the first stanza of "Hope":
“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -
Heres the first stanza of "Hope":
“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -
